Some stories begin with an exciting idea or an imagined world. Mine usually begin with a person.
I don’t start by asking what will happen. I start by wondering who someone is, what they fear, what they hope for, and what impossible choice they may eventually have to make. The plot grows naturally from those questions.
I’m less interested in heroes than in ordinary people trying to do the right thing when every option carries a cost. That’s where the stories begin.

Dena Sinclair
A former street kid from Old Scarborough, Dena Sinclair becomes one of Heredis Corporation’s most trusted security officers. Fiercely competent, quietly compassionate, and convinced she must carry every burden alone, Dena first appears in the Modified Humans novels before becoming the central character in her own stories.
